I've posted my first video today - In it I address Barack Obama and Arnold Schwarzenegger, regarding unemployment checks not being sent out. People are unable to pay their bills, rent, buy food and gas (can't look for a job, if you've got no gas to get there!)
When you call the EDD (California) you only get the usual message machine (press 1 for English) You cannot get a real person on the phone, to access your information, and let you know why you check has not arrived. Email and snail mail are equally ineffective and non-responsive. The EDD has no physical location to go to, which is fine, 'cause you still have no gas to get there!
What is going on?
People need answers, and we need them NOW!

Well, what she says is true! You can't talk with a real person at the EDD in California. All you can do is send a snail mail letter or an email.
ReplyDeleteI pay into this system for over 30 years, and the 1 time I need it, it is NOT there for me.
So, what do I do?

Because the California EDD does not answer their phones, there are only 2 methods of communicating with the EDD (as of Dec 2009).
ReplyDelete1) On their website, you may mail a snail mail letter to them. They will respond to your request by email approximately 10 days later with their response.
2) You may submit an email communication thru the EDD website, after you hit submit, you will be given a receipt number make note of it). Approximately 10 days later your will receive an email from the EDD with their response.
In most cases, the EDD will then mail you the appropriate form a few days later for you to complete in order to keep your claim moving forward.
